Rječnik stranih riječi
Bratoljub Klaić, a Croatian scholar, lexicographer and translator (1909 – 1983), gave Croatian lexicography the Dictionary of Foreign Words, which marked the second half of the 20th century in Croatia and the wider region.
An indispensable handbook and one of the most widely circulated books in Croatia, Klaić's Dictionary of Foreign Words entered almost every home and was the answer to numerous questions at a time when, due to the lack of Croatian monolingual dictionaries, Klaić took on the role played in other cultures by Larousse, Webster, or Duden.
