Suspicion falls on murder, suicide or even a conspiracy against Stalin, which triggers a brutal investigation known as the "Children's Case". Stalin orders the arrest of schoolchildren, forcing them to testify against their friends and parents, exposing forbidden love affairs and family secrets.
