Zagor LU #303: Povratak samuraja
Zagor meets the samurai Takeda again in Kingston, where a Japanese diplomatic visit is threatened by the hired killer Shaft and Shimada Jona’s ninja warriors.
Povratak samuraja (The Samurai’s Return) brings Zagor and Chico to Kingston on the trail of an outlaw. There they encounter Takeda, a Japanese warrior whose turbulent history with the Spirit with the Hatchet makes their reunion far from ordinary. Takeda now serves a wealthy American merchant awaiting a diplomatic delegation from Japan.
The visit could establish a connection between two distant worlds, but a deadly threat is gathering behind the preparations. The hired killer Shaft and the mysterious Shimada Jona, accompanied by three ninja, are lurking in the shadows. Zagor’s pursuit draws him into a conflict larger than the one he initially expected.
Jacopo Rauch combines frontier adventure with samurai action. Takeda’s return adds a personal dimension: this is a warrior who once sought to kill Zagor to avenge his former lord. Their shared past complicates the encounter, while the danger surrounding the visitors demands attention to new enemies.
Massimo Pesce illustrates a storyline bringing gunmen, Japanese warriors and covert threats together in an American setting. This opening instalment continues in Nindže u zasjedi and concludes in Crveno sunce.
