Aleja glagoljaša

Aleja glagoljaša

Josip Bratulić

Between the ancient Croatian cities of Roč and Hum in central Istria, there is a series of 11 monuments dedicated to great historical figures Cyril and Methodius, Kliment of Ohrid, Gregory of Nin, Žakn Juraj, who recorded the publication of the first Croatian printed book in 1483 and major events related to Istria , which together make up the Alley of the Glagolitic. A guide through that memorial with a series of historical data about the Glagolitic script, the first Slavic script that was adopted and developed into its own form by the Croats and used for centuries, can also be useful for learning the basic facts about the Glagolitic script as an important component of Croatian culture, and also about Istria is a historically important part of Croatia.

These are texts that the author intended to introduce that part of Croatian literature, that is, those writers who were silenced due to, as he himself says in the Foreword, gross ideological and national violence.
