Biografija

Klaus Man, nemački pisac, najstariji sin Tomasa Mana. Sa 15 godina napisao je svoj prvi roman. Zastupao je liberalne ideje, pa je već 1933. godine bio prinuđen da emigrira iz nacionalističke Nemačke u Amsterdam, Prag, Pariz i Cirih, odakle je 1936. otišao u SAD. U Amsterdamu je izdavao emigrantski časopis Die Sammlung i bio jedan od najznačajnijih predstavnika međunarodnog antifašističkog novinarstva. Razočaran posleratnom nemačkom stvarnošću, izvršio je samoubistvo. U svojim ranim radovima, Man je bio portparol „izgubljene“ generacije Nemaca posle Prvog svetskog rata. Njegovi najznačajniji romani su autobiografski i satirični uz društvene i psihološke situacije. Glavna dela: Bekstvo na sever, Patetična simfonija, Mefisto, Vulkan, autobiografija Prekretnica.
