Das Buch ist ein biografischer Bericht über das Leben von Ratko Čapek, einem jungen kroatischen Bergsteiger, Pfadfinder und Naturliebhaber, der im Nachkriegskroatien zum Symbol für Idealismus, Mut und spirituelle Stärke wurde.

Der Autor beschreibt Ratkos Leben durch das Prisma seiner Liebe zu den Bergen, insbesondere den Weißen Felsen, aber auch durch seine geistige Reife, moralische Stärke und Aufopferung. Obwohl er jung starb, hinterließ Čapek bei allen, die ihn kannten, einen starken Eindruck, und es ist diese Inspiration, die Nagy nutzt, um den Leser durch seine Geschichte zum Nachdenken über Werte wie Glauben, Patriotismus, Ehrlichkeit und Selbstlosigkeit anzuregen.
