Larousse enciklopedija za roditelje: Trudnoća - rođenje - njega - odgoj
The book is a modernly designed handbook from the top French publisher Larousse. Unlike other handbooks on our market intended for young parents, this book is an advisor from conception to the beginning of their child's adolescence.
For the first time, this manual also includes a clear and understandable dictionary of medical terms that provides basic information about diseases or diagnostic methods, thus helping parents to alleviate their anxieties and fears.
Several dozen top specialists participated in the creation of the "Encyclopedia": gynecologists, pediatricians, psychologists and midwives, and they did their best to answer all the questions that future parents might ask. The 456-page book features over 300 color photographs.
The first chapter discusses pregnancy, explains the course of pregnancy and the growth of the child, then recommends how to monitor the pregnancy and schedule doctor's visits. Pregnant women are advised on optimal menus, exercises and clothing, but are also warned about possible difficulties and risks. They also advise on how to prepare the family, and especially other children, for the arrival of the new baby.
The second chapter is dedicated to childbirth. Many pregnant women are afraid that they will not recognize the moment when they need to go to the maternity hospital, but everything is explained precisely here. The birth itself is described in detail, as well as special cases when it is not advisable to perform the so-called natural birth. It is very important for the mother to get back in shape as soon as possible after giving birth, and exercises are suggested to help her achieve this. Many parents fear, especially when the child is still small, that they will make a mistake.
"Encyclopedia for Parents" provides them with precise instructions for dealing with their child in the following four chapters. How and with what to feed him, how to maintain hygiene, what to teach him, what to let him be independent in.
The chapters are divided according to the child's age:
- Infant up to one year
- Child from 1 to 3 years
- Child from 3 to 10 years
- Towards adolescence.
A detailed overview of the child's development in each year is presented, as well as special advice for each age. At the end of the book there are instructions for dealing with emergencies and a Medical Dictionary in which the most common children's diseases, their symptoms and treatment are described.
