The novel "Razbezni anđeo" is the third part of a trilogy about the noble Dukaj family, set during the turbulent period of World War II.

Through the diaries and letters of family members, especially Zija, Osta and Mihalj, their struggle to preserve the family hearth in Ararat is depicted amidst the horrors of war such as captivity, exile and the siege of Budapest. The novel explores themes of love, loss and political upheaval, also depicting the fate of the loving couple Marija Darida and Maksim Narokov. Zilahy realistically describes the horrors of war and refugee columns, highlighting human strength and the need for love in the darkest times.
