Henry Miller

Tropic of Capricorn is another legendary erotic novel by Henry Miller, published in 1938. Due to the inserted philosophy, it is somewhat difficult to understand. In this work, Henry is in Paris, but he actually remembers his childhood in New York.

The trilogy Tropic of Cancer, Black Spring and Tropic of Capricorn were published by Otokar Keršovani from Rijeka in 1967-68. In them, sexual fantasy, associated with an abundance of black and cynical humor, fits into the description of the chaotic and irresponsible behavior of people outside regular occupations. The conscious amorphousness of the composition, in which anecdotes are intertwined with natural-mystical meditations, is a reflection of Miller's nihilistic attitude towards civilization. This trilogy was banned in the US for a long time.
