Moja baka je govorila – kada sam imao deset ili pet ili sedam godina – da nikada neću varati niti lagati, već samo preterivati i izmišljati. Tada nisam znao razliku (često je ne želim ni danas znati), ali mi se dopalo što mi je izgleda verovala. Tog jutra pre našeg putovanja u Oskoruš, ponovila je da je to oduvek znala: „Izmišljajući i preterujući, danas se time zarađuje.“ U svom trećem romanu, „Poreklo“, Saša Stanišić priča priču o svom putovanju od rodnog Višegrada do Hajdelberga u Nemačkoj i nazad, u bosanske planine, do svoje bake. Topla, setna, duhovita i veoma živopisna, očarala je nemačku publiku i osvojila najvažniju nemačku književnu nagradu, Deutscher Buchpreis za 2019. godinu.
