Elminster: stvaranje maga

Elminster: stvaranje maga

Ed Greenwood

A fantasy novel that tells the origin story of the powerful wizard Elminster Aumar, a key character in the Dungeons & Dragons Forgotten Realms universe.

The novel follows Elminster from a young shepherd to his eventual mastery of magic and his fight against corrupt rulers. The story begins with young Elminster as a shepherd in the ancient nation of Athalantara. After his family and village are destroyed by a dragon-riding magus lord, he vows revenge and embarks on a journey that shapes his destiny. His journey to becoming a mage involves taking on various roles and identities. Elminster joins the Knights of Athalantara, a group of outlaws who fight against the oppressive magus lords who have usurped the kingdom. He moves to the capital of Hastarl and becomes a skilled thief as part of a gang called the Velvet Hands. In her temple, he meets the goddess Mystra (Mistress of Mystery). Impressed by his potential and character, she takes him as one of her Chosen Ones and transforms him into a woman, "Elmara", for a time so that he can learn the nature of magic from a different perspective and from a teacher. The novel culminates with Elminster gathering allies to lead a rebellion against the Magelord, eventually restoring order to Athalantar and accepting his role as one of the most powerful mages in Faerun. The novel is notable for including gender transformation as a key part of Elminster's education in magic.
