The book also examines the relationship between oral and written culture, as well as the influence of mass media on the ability to concentrate and interpret text. The author warns of the danger of losing critical thinking in a society flooded with information. She emphasizes the importance of education that develops not only technical skills, but also the ability to analyze, interpret and draw independent conclusions.
