Twenty-six people bear witness to a tumultuous century marked by numerous major changes in science, technology, society, and politics through their life stories.
The radio journalist made recordings of his conversations with a whole galaxy of his peers of the century, as a document of the times and a memorial to the cult series of shows that were broadcast on Radio Zagreb/Croatian Radio for about twenty years (from 1988 to 2010). From this multitude of narrated destinies, the author has chosen twenty-six people of the 20th century, including Ante Ciliga, Vladimir Devide, Žarko Dolinar, Mia Oremović, Vladimir Prelog, Ivan Supek, Karlo Štajner, Antun Ulrich, Vladimir Velebit... The book is accompanied by a CD with short excerpts from interviews with each of them. The book is primarily a small tribute to the cult radio series "People of the 20th Century", in which the old literary rule that life writes the best stories was once again confirmed. In addition, the book is a faithful document of an unusual hundred years in human history in which such changes occurred as in no previous century.
