Divovski štrumpf

Divovski štrumpf

A Smurf obsessed with Gargamel creates a magic potion that turns him into a giant, but the Smurfs find an ingenious solution to save their village and overcome a great danger.

The picture book The Giant Smurf (Le Schtroumpf Géant) is one of the popular editions from the famous series about little blue creatures by author Pey. The story begins with the usual disagreements and everyday life in the Smurf Village environment, but the plot begins when one of the Smurfs — dissatisfied with his small stature — wants to become big and strong in order to more easily perform difficult tasks and fight for his place in the community. With the help (or carelessness) of the Big Smurf in his laboratory, a powerful magic potion is prepared. However, instead of moderate growth, the potion causes uncontrolled, burgeoning growth and the Smurf turns into a real giant who outgrows the trees and his own village. His newfound size, although initially interesting, soon creates huge problems: he accidentally destroys houses, causes panic and attracts the attention of the evil wizard Gargamel. Through a series of humorous and tense situations, the Smurfs must join forces, use their wisdom and find an antidote. In an accessible and fun way, this picture book teaches the youngest about self-acceptance, the importance of togetherness, and the wisdom that greatness does not come from physical growth, but from the greatness of the heart and deeds.
