Božji trag u stvorenom

Božji trag u stvorenom

Vladimir Dugalić, Ivan Rajković

This theological-ethical study explores the Christian understanding of the dignity of the human person and the created world, analyzing the challenges posed by contemporary science, biomedicine, and ecology in light of Catholic teaching.

The collection and theological study God’s Trace in Creation (Božji trag u stvorenom), authored by Prof. Dr. Vladimir Dugalić and Dr. Ivan Rajković (published in 2010 by the Catholic Faculty of Theology in Đakovo), addresses fundamental questions of Christian anthropology, environmental ethics, and bioethics. In this work, the authors analyze the relationship between contemporary scientific paradigms—primarily in the fields of genetics, biomedicine, and ecology—and the Christian understanding of the created world and the inviolable dignity of the human person. Through theological-moral reflection, the work emphasizes that all of created nature is a reflection of God’s wisdom and love, and that humanity does not possess unlimited dominion over the world, but rather a calling to responsible stewardship and the preservation of creation. Particular focus is placed on bioethical issues and the challenges that modern technological progress poses to human morality, warning against the dangers of reductionist and utilitarian approaches to life. The book makes a valuable contribution to the dialogue between theology and contemporary sciences, offering clear guidelines for fostering a holistic ecological consciousness and preserving human dignity in modern society.
