Koronavirus i Krist
John Piper’s book *Coronavirus and Christ* (2020) provides a theological and spiritual response to the global pandemic, pointing readers toward God’s sovereignty, hope, and the solid rock found in Christ.
Written in the midst of the global health crisis in 2020, the book Coronavirus and Christ by the renowned American theologian and pastor John Piper offers a profound reflection on God’s presence and His purposes amidst suffering and uncertainty. The author approaches the pandemic from the perspective of Christian theology, emphasizing that God holds absolute sovereignty over all events in the world, including disease. Piper urges readers—in the face of fear, isolation, and crisis—not to rely on fleeting human securities, but rather to anchor their lives in Jesus Christ, the unshakeable Rock. The book is divided into two main parts: the first explains what it means for God to reign over the pandemic, while the second explores six potential ways in which God works through difficult circumstances—encouraging people toward repentance, the renewal of faith, the demonstration of love, and a re-evaluation of their own priorities. Written in a style that is both compassionate and uncompromisingly theological, this book serves as a powerful source of comfort, hope, and spiritual direction during times of great social and personal upheaval.
