Zagor LU #274: Mortimer: Zadnji čin
Mortimer holds Chico and Virginia in an abandoned prison. Zagor must penetrate his armed stronghold and disrupt a trap that places his friends’ lives at risk.
Mortimer: Zadnji čin concludes a revenge adventure that turns Zagor’s closest friends into targets. The conflict reaches an abandoned prison, where Mortimer, Jonathan Clark and their armed men await their opponent. Chico and Virginia are captives whose lives govern every decision Zagor makes.
Zagor attempts to enter the stronghold before the trap closes. His aim is not simply to defeat Mortimer, but to prevent the hostages from becoming the final instruments of his revenge.
Burattini constructs a thriller in which personal attachment creates vulnerability. Mortimer seeks to control his enemy through the people Zagor wants to protect, making physical strength insufficient. Timing, position and the consequences of each move become critical when a mistake may cost someone else’s life.
Marco Verni’s artwork emphasises confined spaces, the positioning of opponents and the emotional weight of confrontation. Action remains tied to psychological pressure, with the climax drawing on the long rivalry between hero and criminal mastermind.
This issue completes the storyline spanning Ludens #271–274, following Na povratku kući, Mučna osveta and Požar na Golden Baby.
