Kratka povijest budućnosti

Kratka povijest budućnosti

Jacques Attali

A Brief History of the Future presents scenarios for the further development or decline of our planet over the next fifty years, based on historically and scientifically verified facts available to us today.

After an instructive and concise historical overview from the perspective of capital flows, the author analyzes the current situation in the world, predicting the direction in which states might develop (or decline), what balance of power will be established between the market and democracy, how relations between nations will evolve, and how demographic changes, population movements, changes in work, new forms of markets, terrorism, violence, climate change, and the growing influence of religion will fundamentally change our everyday lives. He also reveals how surprising technical progress could affect work, leisure, education, health, culture, and political systems. Finally, he shows that despite possible pessimistic scenarios of all-out war and chaos, there is also the possibility that a world led by "transhumans," or an altruistic, enlightened elite, will eliminate poverty and move toward a society of abundance, in which everyone will equally benefit from the possibilities of technology and market imagination, which will foster freedoms, leave a better-protected environment for future generations, and find new ways of coexistence and co-creation.
