Mali neobični ljudi

Mali neobični ljudi

Miro Gavran

Small unusual people is a collection of short stories by Mira Gavran inhabited by exotic heroes who, due to their specific views on life and strange desires and intentions, collide with conventions and the order on which the world around them is based.

The characters of this collection of short stories are literally little unusual people: Trpimir is a patient in a mental hospital and writes the history of Croats, Nikola is an old man who is one hundred and four years old and writes letters to the woman who left him fifty years ago and ran away with her lover to Brazil. Marko and Luka are identical twins and have identical lives, and to the Englishman Ted, saving the bear is more important than helping a young man whose legs were blown off by a shell. All of these characters may not be particularly happy, but they find comfort in knowing that, if nothing else, their memory is guaranteed: If the memory is strong enough, each moment can last as long as our lives. No one can take our memory.

These are warm and humorous stories about the people we are surrounded by, but sometimes, due to prejudice, we refuse to accept them as they deserve. The stories were accompanied by an extensive discussion by dr. Milovan Tatarin, and this is already the fifth edition of this book.
