Arrivée du Magicien

Davor Vrankić

An art puzzle for older children! Artist Davor Vrankić invites you to create your own work of art based on his drawings. The template is the polyptych “The Arrival of the Wizard” in 36 cards, and the number of possible compositions is almost unlimited.

The set consists of 36 cards, and the number of possible combinations is practically unlimited.

Davor Vrankić once said about this composition of his and the enigmatic figure of the Wizard:

"I drew the drawing 'The Arrival of the Wizard/Epilogue' (replaceable polyptych, 4 panels, 200x300 cm each panel) as a kind of homage to the iconography of films from the 70s and 80s of the last century, but from the position of someone who experiences it as reality today. In that drawing, I interwoven all the issues that happened during the corona. Looking at that drawing, people perceive and characterize it as a dystopia, but it seems to me that in this way they are trying to distance themselves from reality, i.e. they are avoiding facing things that have long since ceased to be science fiction..."

"...We can say that the Wizard is an unknown, a superposition of all possible futures. It is something or someone that is coming, that is approaching us, that excites us and at the same time scares us. In one module of the drawing, I drew my self-portrait, as well as portraits of my wife and daughter. It was a way "to incorporate a family moment into the drawing with a dose of humor and tenderness."
