The author focuses on the problem of establishing the truth in criminal proceedings, that is, how the court arrives at the factual situation – the set of facts that are considered proven and on which the verdict is based.
The book is still relevant today, as it raises fundamental questions related to evidence, which are relevant in every modern criminal justice system. It influenced the development of criminal procedural thought in the former Yugoslavia and remains a valuable read for lawyers, judges, prosecutors and law students.
