"Happy Days" is not a classic narrative novel or short story, but a collection of wordless or minimally worded drawings, in which the humor is often visual and based on absurdity, twists, and the play of meaning. The characters are everyday people – clerks, doctors, workers, tourists, politicians – caught in situations that reveal the paradoxes of modern civilization, bureaucracy, technology, social expectations, and human stupidity.
