This story begins with a barbecue in an ordinary neighborhood, one sunny afternoon.
Clementine and Sam are invited at the last minute. They don't know the hosts very well - they are neighbors of their old friends, Erika and Oliver, old friends they should have stopped hanging out with long ago. Clementine and Sam should have politely declined the invitation. No, thank you - those are the words that could have changed everything. Because now Clementine will never forget how loudly Erika screamed her name for the rest of her life. Painfully loud... Everyone remembers the events of that afternoon a little differently. Each for their own reason. No one wants to be the one to blame. As six people try to piece together the events, painful truths and old secrets come to the surface. If they can't trust their own memory and their own motives, can they trust anyone else?
