Savršen otok: mala kronika jednog obiteljskog ljetovanja
The Perfect Island is written as a chronicle of a summer vacation. Family harmony comes to the fore in the challenges of unfamiliar surroundings, encounters with new people, and mutual conversations.
a narrated summer vacation of a happy family, supplemented by stories about the island of Silba (about the past and the present), realistic writings of ten-year-old Mimi, SF stories of fourteen-year-old Dario, nostalgic memories of dad Zlatko and essays of mom Silvija that are bursting with details. In essence, the novel is a “conquest” of the island in an unusual way with writings that, like photographs, remain after the summer. It is told in a simple style that even older people can immerse themselves in, especially those who like travelogue prose.
