Uvod u katoličku liturgiju
Introduction to Catholic Liturgy, by the famous contemporary German liturgist Adolf Adam, is a great contribution to the correct understanding of the liturgy and the implementation of its renewal in our region.
This valuable book deserves our special attention and it would be a great pity if it remained unknown to many. Unfortunately, after the beginning of the post-conciliar momentum in implementing liturgical renewal, it seems that things have come to a standstill, as if we have all grown tired. A. Adam rightly observes in the introduction to his book: "Whoever knows and loves the liturgy as 'the summit towards which the Church's activity aspires and at the same time the source from which all its strength emanates', must truly regret that interest and true respect for it seem to be waning among the broadest strata. The reason for this is undoubtedly the decline of the Christian-ecclesiastical religious consciousness and strength, because only faith can open and sharpen the eyes of the spirit for the values and dignity of Christian worship. The old proverb: 'What is not known, is not loved' also comes true in the area of liturgy."
