Spolnost i brak u Bibliji

Spolnost i brak u Bibliji

T. C. de Kruijf, G. N. Vollebregt

The authors seek to show that the biblical view of sexuality is not negative or puritanical, but deeply connected to God's plan of creation, covenant, and responsibility.

The first part of the book deals with the creation of man and woman (Genesis 1–2), where sexuality is interpreted as a gift and an integral part of human identity. Marriage is presented as a community of fidelity and reciprocity, not just a social institution. The impact of sin on interpersonal relationships is also analyzed, which is manifested in the distorted forms of sexuality and marriage in Old Testament history. The second part is devoted to the legal and wisdom texts of the Old Testament, which discuss marriage, adultery, chastity, and family obligations. The authors emphasize that these regulations must be interpreted in their historical and theological context, and not literally and in isolation. The third part of the book deals with New Testament teaching, especially Jesus' positions on marriage, divorce, and fidelity, and Paul's reflections on marriage, celibacy, and marital relations. Marriage is presented as a sign of Christ's relationship to the Church, while sexuality is understood as a responsible and love-led dimension of human life.
