Divlja Evropa

Divlja Evropa

Božidar Jezernik

At the center of Jezernik's scientific work is ethnological and anthropological research of the Balkans and Eastern Europe.

Wild Europe (The Balkans in the Gaze of Western Travellers, London, 2004) introduces us to Western European travelogues written between the sixteenth and early twentieth centuries, but also to some Turkish and Russian sources, as well as those originating from the former Yugoslavia. The aim is to examine how perceptions of the Balkans changed depending on the historical period, nationality and origin of the author.
