Histrion ili autobiografija glumca

Histrion ili autobiografija glumca

The Histrions finally got a monograph. On the occasion of their fortieth birthday and thirty years of the Histrionic Summer, 2016.

Histrioni is actually the Gesamtkunstwerk of a Varaždin resident, actor and director, occasionally a singer and a short-lived minister of culture, lifelong Dynamo member and winemaker and relentless Kajka fan Zlatko Vitez. First, Histrioni were vagrants, and then, thanks to Milan Bandić, they became gentlemen and got a building on Ilica with an elite Briton. And today they are a Zagreb institution, both metaphorically and literally. In forty years, Histrioni performed in as many as 420 venues. Precise theatre expert Sanja Nikčević calculated that the Histrioni repertoire has 83 titles. As many as two-thirds of the plays out of that exceptional number refer to domestic texts. 36 of them are newly born texts, 24 are tailored to Croatian classics that the Knights' acting knights and knights brought to the contemporary audience. Of course, the most common Histrioni director is the almighty Vitez, who has signed as many as thirty directorial credits. But there are also the greatest ones like Georgij Par, Kosta Spaić, Božidar Violić, Joško Juvančić, Ivica Kunčević... And yes, the versatile theatrical wizard Vladimir Gerić, but also the busiest histrionic directors like Zoran Mužić and Dražen Ferenčina. And yes, the actors, because actors are the soul of Histrion and it is not possible to just list them, and many, now deceased, from the Croatian acting Olympus honed their craft on histrionic traveling and static stages. Therefore, a magnificent monograph and written monument to all those tireless stars who learned with Histrion what it means to listen to the people's genuine and unmistakable presence.
