First aid manual for children's accidents
"Child Injuries is an interesting addition to the literature on child protection. I hope that those to whom it is intended will read it carefully and make extensive use of it. The book is divided into two parts. The first covers the prevention of accidents in children, and the second the procedures to be followed after an accident has occurred. Of course, accident prevention is — taken individually — the most important element for the safety of the child. When it is successful, emergency procedures become unnecessary. There are very few secrets in preventing accidents. The preparations, implementation, and necessary interventions are usually, although not always, simple, obvious, and based on common sense. But — as many authors emphasize — common sense is a rare commodity — and we often miss the obvious, so it is always useful to keep these basic protective measures in mind."
