Iz ambara sjećanja i divana
The homeland memoir book by this Croatian scientist, a respected historian, is the story of his childhood and youth, that is, the period from the thirties to the fifties of the last century.
The book begins in his native Croatian coast, continues in Black and Pleternica, where the family moved, then the Požega Gymnasium, where the author passed his matriculation exam in 1952. It is primarily a book of memories and personal recollections of people and events, and in that atmosphere it can also be read as a testimony to a bygone era, forgotten customs and habits, languages and speeches that are now somewhat extinct.
