Sun Tzu

The Art of War is a Chinese military treatise written in the 6th century BC by Sun Tzu. Consisting of 13 chapters, it has long been hailed as the finest work of military strategy and tactics of its time.

"The Art of War" is also considered one of the oldest military books in the world. It is also considered one of the most influential books on military theory and business strategy, both in the East and in the West. Sun Tzu was the first thinker who understood the meaning of position in strategy and that the position is influenced by both the objective circumstances of the physical environment and the subjective opinion of rivals in that environment. He taught that strategy is not planning in the sense of making a list of actions, but that it requires quick and appropriate responses to changing circumstances. Planning works in a controlled environment, but in a competitive environment plans collide creating unforeseen situations.
