Što moram znati za pomoćnički ispit?
A practical manual intended for apprentices and scholars preparing for the journeyman (journeyman) examination in trades and crafts for all grades of apprenticeship. Second, expanded and supplemented edition, with 14 illustrations.
Hrvatski Radiša, a society founded in 1903 to help poor Croatian young men in apprenticeship, published this book as an official preparation for the exam that was mandatory after completing the apprenticeship.
The book summarizes in a concise form all the necessary material for the apprentice exam — the basics of professional knowledge in various crafts, trade skills, accounting, knowledge of goods, hygiene, labor laws, and general education. It is especially practical because it is written in clear, simple language adapted to apprentices.
The fourteen pictures in the book serve as a visual aid — they show tools, work processes, workshop organization schemes, measurements, and other professional terms.
The work reflects the efforts of Hrvatski Radiša to raise the level of vocational education of Croatian youth in the Kingdom of Yugoslavia. It was very useful and sought after among apprentices because it collected in one place what was otherwise learned during several years of apprenticeship.
Today, this is a rare antiquarian publication with high cultural and historical value. It represents an important document on the system of apprenticeship, trade schooling, and social welfare for youth in Croatia in the 1930s.
