Godišnjak Pomorskog muzeja u Kotoru, VII - 1958.: Primjer kreditiranja bokeljske pomorske privrede XVIII vijeka / Nosioci pomorske privrede Perasta u prvoj polovini XVIII vijeka
A special print from the Annual of the Maritime Museum in Kotor, No. VII (1958), contains two works by the esteemed maritime historian Miloš I. Milošević: "The Leaders of the Maritime Economy of Perast in the First Half of the 18th Century" and "An Example of Crediting the Maritime Economy of the Bay of Kotor in the 18th Century". Both contributions are based on original archival material and represent a valuable contribution to the study of the economic and maritime history of Boka Kotorska.
In the first work, the author analyzes the leading maritime families of Perast and their role in shipping, trade, and the organization of the maritime economy during the first half of the 18th century. Special attention is paid to the social and economic significance of shipowners, trade networks, and their connections with the wider Mediterranean area.
The second work deals with crediting the maritime economy using the example of the Bolica family from Kotor, showing how loans were an important source of financing maritime ventures. Based on promissory notes, wills, inventories and other archival documents, the author reconstructs the credit relationships between maritime families and Boka seafarers and highlights their importance for the development of trade and shipping.
Taken together, these works provide a comprehensive picture of the organization of the maritime economy of Boka Kotorska in the 18th century, connecting its main economic carriers with the financial mechanisms that enabled the development of shipping and trade. This separate volume represents a valuable source for researchers of the maritime, economic and social history of the eastern Adriatic.
