Swings Both Ways
Robbie Williams' tenth studio album from 2013 features a blend of covers of swing classics and original songs, along with notable duets with stars such as Lily Allen, Michael Bublé and Olly Murs.
The album Swings Both Ways was released in November 2013 by Island Records as a direct spiritual successor to his hugely successful 2001 release Swing When You're Winning. On this release, Robbie Williams once again combines traditional jazz and swing with an accessible pop sensibility, offering listeners a combination of refreshed arrangements of timeless standards and completely new original material.
The album was produced by his long-time collaborator Guy Chambers, which re-established the recognizable authorial chemistry. The release is given a special touch by attractive duet collaborations: Robbie sings with Michael Bublé on the title song Swings Both Ways, with Lily Allen performs Dream A Little Dream, with Olly Murs I Wan'na Be Like You, while the album also features Kelly Clarkson and Rufus Wainwright. The release achieved exceptional commercial success, debuting at number one on the British album chart and officially becoming the 1,000th number one album in the history of the official British top chart (UK Albums Chart).
