My Little Bible by Penny Frank (published in a Croatian edition in 1992) is one of the best-known and most beloved illustrated Bibles for preschool and early school-age children. The book is designed to introduce the youngest readers to the core themes and messages of the Christian faith in a warm, simple, and easily understood way. It contains carefully selected and abridged narratives from the Old and New Testaments—ranging from the creation of the world, Noah’s Ark, Moses, and David, to the birth of Jesus, his miracles, parables, and resurrection. The text is written in accessible language that preserves the directness and beauty of the original biblical accounts, while remaining mindful of how children perceive and understand the world. The book’s striking color illustrations, which faithfully accompany each story, add particular value; they spark children’s imaginations and help make the events easier to remember. My Little Bible serves as an essential resource for family reading and religious education, remaining a cherished first encounter with the biblical heritage for many generations.
