Zagor LU #259: Proročanstvo
In Concepción, a preacher predicts catastrophe and incites rebellion against the governor. Zagor defends the persecuted as fear and violence spread through the city.
Proročanstvo brings Zagor and Chico to Concepción, Chile, where ominous signs fuel growing unease. Frate Tomas Nunez, a preacher predicting catastrophe, directs public anger against the governor and the established order.
When his followers turn against dissenters, Zagor and Captain Pastor intervene to protect those in danger. The threat of natural disaster becomes entangled with mob violence, making the city’s uncertain future increasingly disturbing.
Burattini builds suspense around the tension between anticipation and action. Some seek confirmation of prophecy in unusual events; others confront immediate injustice. Fear becomes an instrument of power, while Zagor’s defence of the persecuted places him against people convinced of their own infallibility.
The historical setting gives the adventure a social dimension. Authority, responsibility and personal conscience are tested within a community expecting calamity. Sedioli’s pencils and Verni’s inks emphasise restless crowds, threatening encounters and the atmosphere of an approaching breakdown.
The issue continues the storyline begun in Most nad ponorom. It is followed by Sudnji dan, with the conclusion appearing in the opening section of Pod južnim nebom.
