In the register is the most famous novel by Ante Kovačić. The novel was published in sequels during 1888 in the magazine Vijenac. According to critics, the most important Croatian novel of the 19th century, along with August Šenoa's "Peasant's Revolt".
The novel is inspired by the life and work of Doctor Felix Kersten, Heinrich Himmler's personal therapist during World War II.
