In seinem neuesten Buch spricht der Akademiker Ivan Aralica am offensten über die kommunistische Mentalität in Kroatien, und die Hauptfigur des Buches ist der ehemalige Präsident Stjepan Mesić. In den letzten Jahren veröffentlichte Aralica mehrere Schlüsselromane (Ambra, Fukara, Svetinka, Puž), in denen er über die kommunistische Mentalität schrieb, die wahren Identitäten der Protagonisten dieser Bücher wurden jedoch durch Pseudonyme ersetzt.
