Humbolt, inspirisan stvarnim američkim pesnikom Delmorom Švarcom, predstavlja arhetip genija koji se suočava sa neuspehom u materijalističkom svetu. Njihov odnos istražuje teme prijateljstva, umetnosti, slave i sukoba između intelektualnih ideala i komercijalne stvarnosti.
