Zašto sam vam lagala
Mlada devojka krije svoje nesigurnosti i želju za prihvatanjem kroz niz izmišljenih priča. Suočavanje sa istinom joj pomaže da bolje razume sebe i svoje odnose sa drugima.
Why Did I Lie to You is a novel by Croatian writer Julijana Matanović that talks about growing up, identity, and the need for acceptance in an interesting and humorous way. The story is told from the perspective of a girl who recalls events from her childhood and school days.
The main character often makes up stories and exaggerates events from her own life. With her lies, she tries to attract attention, gain the affection of her peers, and hide her feelings of insecurity. Although her fabrications sometimes seem harmless and fun, over time they lead to misunderstandings and problems in relationships with other people.
Through a series of everyday situations, the reader follows her growing up, confronting her own actions, and gradually understanding the importance of honesty. The novel shows how children cope with the need to be accepted and how much they are influenced by the family, school, and environment in which they grow up.
In a simple and accessible style, the author depicts the inner world of a young person who is searching for her place among her peers. Why I Lied to You encourages readers to reflect on their own actions and shows that honesty is an important foundation for interpersonal relationships. Due to its close-to-life themes and believable characters, the novel is especially interesting to young readers.
