Zagor LU #85: Sramotan sporazum
Haven Gate’s settlers face starvation while trader Mac Farland schemes to drive them away for gold. Zagor challenges the greed and violence threatening their survival.
Sramotan sporazum concludes an adventure in which a small community’s survival is threatened by another man’s pursuit of wealth. Haven Gate’s settlers are left without promised food supplies while trader Mac Farland pursues his interests in gold. Zagor sides with the vulnerable and confronts an alliance of economic coercion and violence.
Bepi Vigna constructs a Western in which power depends on more than weapons. Control over supplies becomes a means of intimidation, while the insecurity of frontier life creates opportunities to exploit others. Zagor’s intervention therefore carries a clear social dimension: protecting the community also means exposing the interests behind the threats.
Gaetano Cassaro’s artwork follows the action and confrontations within the series’ familiar adventure framework. The tension rests on an unequal struggle between people hoping to build a new life and those who regard their hardship as a business opportunity.
The story begun in Ljudi i zvijeri ends here. In the final section, Marcello Toninelli and Francesco Gamba introduce a new adventure involving the Malecite, continued in Željezni narednik and Noć krvoprolića. This issue thus connects two distinct conflicts and two creative teams.
