The Peasant Revolt is a historical novel by August Šenoa, first published in the magazine Vijenac in 1877. It is one of five novels by August Šenoa and his most important historical novel. The introductory judge was written by Josip Nagy.
The story is set in medieval Zagreb and deals with the conflict between love and cruel justice. The plot follows a young girl, Janja, whose beloved, Jurko, is unjustly convicted and executed on the false charge of murdering the son of a prominent citizen.
The novel "Steel Moon" by Pavao Pavličić takes place in contemporary Zagreb and follows a series of mysterious suicides in the Home for neglected children.
