Dictionaries from the beginning of the 20th century (Katić, Žepić) with their archaic fund of words and the complete lack of meta-linguistic features, i.e. their reprints, can only remain an attempt to satisfy the needs of today's pupils, students, priests, lawyers, doctors, philosophers, agronomists, astronomers, political scientists... The dictionary actually consists of two parts: the first part includes the general language base (approximately 18,000 entries, about 50,000 sub-entries and more than 100,000 phrases, paradigmatic syntagms), and the second part is the dictionary of proper names, which appears for the first time in Croatian lexicography, and has approximately 10,000 entries.

The dictionary has these advantages over previous Croatian-Latin and Latin-Croatian dictionaries:

• accentuation is marked on Croatian entries and on all Latin words
• the fund of words, in addition to classical and medieval Latin, also includes modern (and the most recent) Latin, so that users will also find in the Dictionary entries from the fields of technology, chemistry, astronomy, (atomic) physics, physiology, philosophy, jurisprudence, medicine , biology, zoology, ecclesiology. diplomacy, politics and other scientific disciplines
• a dictionary of proper names of such a scope that our Latin studies do not know so far
• to the phrases of classic launity, numerous ones from Croatian history and literature were added...
• in the selection of entries, contemporary language expression was carefully chosen, especially in the field of politics and diplomacy.
