Diabolik SD #4: Mrvice za neznance

Mrvice za neznance pits Diabolik’s precision against the unpredictability of petty crime. His target is the tsarina’s necklace, a prize that has already eluded him once. Inspector Ginko expects another attempt, while an amateur thief’s interference disrupts their contest. A carefully prepared operation suddenly depends on someone else’s mistakes.

Giorgio Corbetta and Patricia Martinelli construct a crime story around the difference between professional expertise and clumsy opportunism. Diabolik is accustomed to anticipating security arrangements and police tactics, but chance introduces something less easily outwitted: another person’s lack of foresight.

Jewel theft, a police trap and unexpected interference bring thriller mechanics together with dark humour. The criminal antihero’s perspective shifts the reader’s attention beyond whether the law will prevail. The fascination also lies in watching competing plans collide and seeing how control can disappear when an outsider intervenes.

Stefano Toldo and Franco Paludetti illustrate the action, the characters’ decisions and the changing balance of advantage. This volume contains a complete, standalone episode, making it an accessible introduction to a series that builds suspense around the thief, his pursuer and unpredictable intruders.
