Zagor LU #270: Gospodar otoka
In the Falklands, Zagor and Chico protect Moon, a young woman accused of witchcraft. Her bond with foxes draws them into conflict with the island’s ruthless ruler.
Gospodar otoka takes Zagor and Chico to the Falkland Islands on their return from South America. A brief stop becomes another adventure when they protect Moon, a young woman persecuted as a witch. The accusation serves an authority hostile to anything beyond its control.
Moon has an unusual bond with foxes, while Lord Jethro regards her as a threat. Zagor’s intervention leads him to Summerisle, where fear, legend and arbitrary rule reinforce one another.
Colombo and Giusfredi combine an island mystery with themes of prejudice and humanity’s relationship with nature. Zagor must confront not only violent individuals but also the beliefs used to justify their actions. Fantastic elements create uncertainty about the boundary between local legend and tangible danger.
Gallieno Ferri’s artwork emphasises the isolated setting, expressive characters and the mystery of woodland spaces. The enclosed island community gives the familiar adventure framework a distinctive atmosphere.
This issue opens the storyline spanning Ludens #270–271, concluded in the opening section of Na povratku kući. The story also marks Giorgio Giusfredi’s debut as a Zagor writer.
