Munir Vejzović

Munir Vejzović

Josip Depolo

Enriched with a multitude of high-quality reproductions, this bilingual (Croatian and English) monograph is dedicated to the famous Croatian painter and graphic artist.

Munir Vejzović (born 1943 in Derventa, Bosnia and Herzegovina – died 2020 in Zagreb) was a Croatian painter and set designer, one of the most prominent visual artists of the middle generation in Croatia, known for his rich artistic expression, as well as his exceptional contribution to theatrical set design. He has received several awards for painting and set design, including the Vladimir Nazor Award and other professional awards. His work is recognized and appreciated in professional and theatrical circles, as well as among art critics. Elements of poetry, drama, the unconscious and the symbolic are intertwined in his painting. Vejzović is among those artists who created between the world of painting and the scene, between the canvas and the stage, and left a recognizable mark on both.
