Dodirni Mi Kolena

Dodirni Mi Kolena

Zana

The album "Dodirni mi kolena" by the Belgrade pop-rock band Zana was released in 1982. It brings infectious synth-pop and new wave with the megahit of the same name that marked the era.

The second studio album by the popular Belgrade pop-rock and synth-pop band Zana, Dodirni mi kolena, was released in 1982 under the auspices of Zagreb's Jugoton. The album was recorded at the "Tiva Recording" studio in Torsby, Sweden, and produced by Tina Varga, which gave the band an extremely modern, clean and production-superior sound image that set them apart on the domestic scene at the time and brought them closer to European neo-romantic trends.

The backbone of the band at that time consisted of vocalist Zana Nimani, keyboardist Zoran Živanović (Kikamac) and guitarist Radovan Jovićević, in collaboration with other musicians (Bogdan, Igor and Tina Varga). The lyrics of the songs are largely written by Marina Tucaković, while the music and arrangements were designed by Kikamac and Jovićević. The release features nine songs, including hits such as "Majstor za poljupce", "Bar jednom nednjelo", "Čamac na vodi", "13 je moj srečan broj", "Via Amerika" and the absolute megahit and club classic "Dodirni mi kolena".

The visual identity of the release with the recognizable design of Mirko Ilić and photographs by Nenad Vasiljević rounded off this successful story. Dodirni mi kolena remained remembered as one of the most important and influential pop-synth releases in the history of Yugoslav discography.
