Nejednaki: priče o današnjem svijetu
Ivana Dragičević’s 2018 book offers an insightful analysis of global inequalities, populism, the refugee crisis, and technological changes, drawing on her extensive experience in journalism and foreign affairs.
The book Nejednaki, by award-winning journalist and foreign policy editor Ivana Dragičević (published in 2018 by Naklada Ljevak), presents a passionate, engaging and insightful look at the key crises and challenges of the modern world. Based on the author's decades of field reporting and conversations with the world's leading intellectuals, politicians, and ordinary people, the book analyzes how globalization, the collapse of the middle class, and the widening gap between rich and poor have created fertile ground for populism, xenophobia, and instability. Through personal anecdotes and reports, Dragičević travels from European metropolises to refugee routes, dealing with topics such as the migration crisis, climate change, the technological revolution and the threat to democratic institutions. With the title "Unequal", the author does not only mean economic status, but also inequality in rights, opportunities and dignity within today's fragmented society. Unequal is not only a diagnosis of the bad state of the modern world, but also a call for empathy, solidarity and a re-examination of the fundamental values on which the global community rests.
