Two men were shot at close range, and a young woman named Aida, a native of Bieljina, is the only witness to that shooting. Having found herself in the right place at the right time (night shift in the editorial office of Večernje novini, the daily she works for), the too young and precocious Annika Bengtzon will begin her investigation. Two dead men, murder and suicide ruled out. Political motive? International conflict? A murder linked to the Yugoslav mafia that completely controls the black market in cigarettes and alcohol?
