Tibor Sekelj bio je istraživač, pisac i poliglot koji je proputovao svijet promičući humanizam, međukulturno razumijevanje i esperanto, ostavivši bogato naslijeđe putopisne i filozofske literature.

Tibor Sekelj (1912.–1988.) bio je istraživač, putopisac, etnograf, pisac i promicatelj esperanta, porijeklom iz današnje Vojvodine. Veći dio života posvetio je putovanjima na gotovo sve kontinente, istražujući različite kulture i narode, često u udaljenim i teško dostupnim područjima. Njegova poznata djela, poput Teme i svetla i Na Vrhu Sveta, spajaju pustolovinu s dubokim promišljanjima o zajedništvu i razumijevanju među ljudima. Bio je član brojnih znanstvenih društava te je aktivno sudjelovao u promicanju mira i univerzalne komunikacije putem esperanta. Sekelj je vjerovao da znatiželja, znanje i međukulturni dijalog mogu povezati svijet, a njegovo stvaralaštvo danas ostaje svjedočanstvo hrabrosti, tolerancije i čovjekoljublja.
